How to Apply

It is strongly recommended that all students who think they may wish to enrol at the College, attend one of the Open Days with their parents, carers or another suitable adult such as a Careers Teacher or Head of Year 11.

Open Days are an important and valuable opportunity to meet teachers, other staff and current students; find out more about the courses, support and facilities and generally ‘get a feel’ for the
College.

Applicants from Havering:
Priority will be given to all those students who attend Havering schools or live in Havering. Applicants from Havering 11-16 schools (partner schools) will be provided with a transfer form and supported through the transfer process by their school. Applicants from Havering 11-18 schools or Havering residents who go to school outside the borough should apply in the usual way (see below).

Non-Havering Applicants:
Havering Sixth Form College has a commitment to offer places to students from Havering. This means that the places we can offer to students from other schools are restricted and competition is high. In order to help us to allocate these places fairly, we have a set of criteria against which we judge applications. These are:

* students who are hardworking and enthusiastic as demonstrated by their reference and/or predicted grades;
* students with significant sporting or other extra curricular achievements which demonstrate commitment;
* students with siblings at the College; and
* students who wish to study subjects which are often under-subscribed (these vary every year but often include
Modern Foreign Languages).

Application forms for students attending Havering 11-18 schools or non-Havering schools can be obtained in the following ways:

* telephone the main switchboard on 01708 514400 and request a form which will then be sent to you in the post;
* download an application form (and a reference form); or
* collect one at the relevant Open Day

If you have any concerns about the application process, please speak with your Head of Year or Careers Teacher or contact the College’s Admissions Team on 01708 514400.
