On the 7th July 2012, a team of four students and two staff members from Havering Sixth Form College took part in a 13.5 mile moonlight walk in Southend to raise money for Educaid.
Each member of the team played a musical instrument and sang over the four hours it took to walk. There were five ukuleles and one harmonica in their ensemble.
The Moonlight Colourthon is a 13 mile walk from Chalkwell Park in Leith-on-Sea to Southend Pier and back again on Saturday 7 July. It starts at 8pm and finishes at midnight so any walkers will have to arrange pick up.
We are walking this for EducAid, the College's official charity.
Registration fee for each walker is £15.75 and this cover a t-shirt, a medal, a wristband and first aid. Any money left over goes to charity.
There will be ukulele-ists walking and playing, so there will be entertainment along the way.
We already have a team of about 5 walkers and we are asking for anyone else interested to join us. Alternatively, you can either sponsor team members or donate online directly via the widget on the right-hand side of this page.
The deadline for signing up if you want to do the walk is on the 25th June. Please contact Sara Falcone (SJF) via email.
An email will be sent to signed-up walkers with information on the walk and what they need to do along with a sponsor form so they can get raising money.
