Videos Created by Students

Here are a few samples of the work created by students (past and present) taking art and media courses.

Martin Perret (Ice Skaters).
Title "Lost in repetition."

Martin produced a series of stop frame shots that were put in sequence each frame was shortened to give fluid movement to the piece, the piece was then repeated and reversed so that the begining became the end.

This way the  sequences could be linked many times so that the viewer has time to watch the moving image, with the incorporated  soundtrack. The intention was to create a moving image that would play with a flowing sensation similar to the motion of the sea across the shore line. This was linked with a sound track to enhance the motion of the piece.

Film title " BOO "

This animated sequence was developed to illustrate competence in the stop motion process, the student was encouraged to experiment with model making techniques.

Use of plasticine to construct characters.

The object of the film was to make a horror sequence, using information gained through research of traditional techniques and present day developements.

Sophie Winters Clown Face (Self Image)

The project was to be based around Identity, so Sophie (A2 student) decided to take a series of still images, these where then altered gradually in Photoshop, slowly building up into a clown like image.

The built up sequence was then put onto a time line with the speed increased to speed image flow. The sequence was then copied and put over the previous sequence. Adjusting the opacity made two moving images in the same  frame this added to the sense of uncertainty.

Then a third sequence was added to give a further depth to the piece, though this sequence was altered through an effect that would break up the image giving an indistinct haze in the background. Finally a static image with an altered opacity was superimposed over the end of the sequence.

Altogether the film is a  representation of the thoughts associated with identity.

Martin Perret, title "Movement".( Birds in flight ).

(video to be added)

Martin took a series of still images and put them in sequence this enabled the images to be animated each image had to be cut down so that each images time slot was only a percentage of a second this was gradually adjusted so that the sequence would run smoothly to illustrate a breakdown of  how movement is created from differing positions in flight. A sound track was then added to enhance the general feeling of movement.

Abishek Hans BTEC : Title: Transformation

(video to be added)

This film sequence was put together in Adobe Flash.

The process required an origional  photogaraph from which a line outline tracing was made then the origional photograph was removed.

This image was then broken down into individual frames building up to the final image. Evolving from the Eiffel Tower, Plane and then Robot.
