| * | Results will be available for collection from 10:30 am in the College Sports Hall. |
| * | This is the only way you can collect your exam slips containing your exact results. |
A2 Students
If you have applied to university through UCAS:
| * | Have your UCAS Track username and password ready the night before. |
| * | From the early hours of the morning on Thursday 19th August you should be able to log onto UCAS Track to see if you have been accepted by your first or second choice university. |
| * | If you have been accepted by your first or second choice - you simply have to celebrate! So, come into College and pick up your results from 10:30 am. |
| * | Your university will write to you a few days later. |
Three students to receive £1,500 Helena Kennedy Foundation awards

Three Havering Sixth Form College students have each been awarded a Helena Kennedy Foundation bursary of £1,500 per year to assist them in their studies when they start University in September.
Race for Life team raise £4,787.20 for Cancer Research

We did it! Havering Sixth Form College’s fantastic team of 75 women took part in the Race for Life on Sunday July 4th – and raised an incredible £4,787.20 for Cancer Research UK.

On a scorching hot day and cheered on by family, friends and supporters, the team joined the thousands of other like-minded women in a snaking sea of pink and white to complete the 5K course at Hylands Park, Chelmsford.

Jack Petchey Awards for four more students
Four more Havering Sixth Form College students have been recognised for outstanding achievement and success through the Jack Petchey Foundation Award scheme.

Each year the College participates in this scheme which gives the opportunity to recognise those students who have achieved through tremendous effort, shown huge progress, positive attitude and determination, have given their time to help others or who have been successful in the face of adversity.
HE & Careers Day – a resounding success
A highly successful HE & Careers Day was held in College on June 23 with over 60 guests from universities, colleges, employers and agencies taking part.

Lower Sixth students were able to browse the stands in the atrium and library, pick up information and ask questions as well as having the opportunity to attend four of the 56 talks that ran throughout the day.
ILEX Legal Secretaries students recognised for achievements
High achieving students on the College’s ILEX Legal Secretaries courses were recognised at an end-of-year presentation ceremony.

Sports Presentation Evening proves a winner
Sporting students were singled out for praise at the annual College PE and Sports Department Presentation Evening.

West Ham Utd Ladies FC Academy to start at Hornchurch

From September 2010, West Ham Utd Ladies FC will operate an academy for 16-19 year old females in partnership with Havering Sixth Form College, using training facilities at Hornchurch Sports Centre - an Everyone Active leisure facility - for two hours a week.
Students motivated after day trip to Cambridge University
A day trip to Cambridge University’s Open Day enabled Havering Sixth Form College students to find out more about one of Britain’s most prestigious learning establishments.

A total of 17 students took part in the trip on July 1st and were given the opportunity to look around the university campus, attend talks, explore the city and talk to staff and current students about what life is like as a university student.
Beauty queen dream for Angela
College student Angela James is within touching distance of her dream to become Miss England 2010.

Former King’s Wood School pupil Angela, 18, who joined College in September 2008 and is taking A Levels in PE, Law and Psychology, has beaten 30,000 other girls to win through to the Grand Final of the last 50 competitors – which will be broadcast for the first time on Sky TV.
Munich rowing success for former College student and Olympic gold medallist Mark Hunter

Former Havering Sixth Form College student Mark Hunter produced an incredible comeback performance at the Rowing World Cup in Germany.
Mark, who attended College in 1995, was part of the Great Britain team which brought back five golds in an 11-medal haul at the season's second rowing World Cup held in Munich.
Students celebrate outstanding success in January exams
Havering Sixth Form College students have been celebrating fantastic results from January exams – with 38 achieving an amazing 100% in certain AS and A2 units.
