Student Services
Providing individual support for students is one of the College's top priorities because we know that quality support can make a huge difference to a student's performance.
Gifted & Talented
The College welcomes applications from
those students who have been identified as
part of a Gifted and Talented programme in
their secondary school. The College has
developed a Gifted and Talented
programme designed to suit the individual
needs of more able students and recognise
and reward academic, sporting and
individual achievements. The College
makes every effort to identify those students
who meet our criteria and would benefit
from the programme.
College Counsellor
The College Counsellor provides students with a non-judgemental, safe place to talk and be listened to in confidence. The counsellor can be contacted through Reception or through the Personal Tutor.
Tutorial Support
Each student is allocated a Personal Tutor who will support her/him with study and personal issues throughout the year. Personal Tutors establish a close working relationship with their tutees through regular meetings, whole group and one-to-one tutorials. At such tutorials, progress is reviewed and targets for improvement set. In addition, concerns can be raised and advice given.
The Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme
The Achievement Award Scheme enables
the College to recognise the effort,
endeavour and achievement of students in
a practical and positive way. The Awards
are not just for the best student in a subject,
or someone who has already received
recognition for an outstanding achievement.
They are also for students who, in their own
way, have made real progress or made a
difference in some way to themselves, the
class or College community.

equipment, costumes for theatre
productions, media studies equipment,
outside benching, geology display
equipment and food technology
equipment including an ice cream maker. |

Each month two students are chosen to
receive an Award in the form of a framed
certificate and a cheque for £300 each to
be spent on a College project/item of their
choice. |
