HE Advice & Careers Support available from the Careers Centre

  • Opening Hours: Monday to Thursday 9.30 - 4.30pm and Friday 9.30 - 2.30pm. Drop in between these times for instant advice or make an appointment to see an adviser.

  • Staffed by  Nikki Phelps, Janet Chamberlain and Kathy Briaris who can advise on careers and higher education and who offer specialist guidance on the University Application Process (UCAS)

  • Also staffed by Jacquie Stewart from Havering Connexions who spends approximately 100 days a year at the college and is able to offer specialist guidance on further/higher education, employment and apprenticeships. She is available to provide support for students with additional needs who are progressing on to further/higher education in the form of a Moving Forward Plan (S139a)

  • Provides a superb range of information on careers, further and higher education including up to date reference material, university prospectuses, software packages and careers literature. 

  • 8 computers available for research.  

  • Workshops and presentations delivered by University representatives throughout the year on different aspects of applying to HE, personal statements, student finance, applying for medicine and Oxford and Cambridge Universities

  • Look out for Careers Bulletins which are emailed to students giving important information about the university application process, deadlines and job opportunities. This information is also posted on MOODLE under the Careers & University Information service.

  • Higher education and Careers event held each year in June when representatives from over 30 Universities visit the College to speak to students about all aspects of Higher education and career choice

  • UCAS & Student finance evening held at the end of June for Parents and students
