University visitor provides personal statement advice
Students received help with their personal statement writing from a university expert when he visited College this week.
Fred Bonful, from London South Bank University held a drop-in session for students to polish up their personal statements which are crucial to their UCAS applications for university admission.
The session was held on Monday 5th December from 1pm to 3pm and in that time, Fred advised numerous students on how they could improve their applications, and what universities are looking for in a student’s personal statement.
Careers Coordinator Nikki Phelps said: “Fred was impressed with the quality of the personal statements he saw yesterday saying that the students had produced some great statements and they were clearly motivated for their chosen courses.
“The advice he gave was that admission tutors want to see evidence of transferable skills and subject knowledge and students should reflect on how their qualifications link with the degree course content.”
