Theatre visitors enjoy lunchtime music performance
A lunchtime concert in the Queen’s Theatre foyer by lower sixth students was enjoyed by local residents and theatre-goers.
The students – Sally-Ann Gray, Rebecca Kenneally, Niamh O’Sullivan, Charlie Pring, Christine Rizardo, Ryan Tennyson, Paula Urbanaviciute and Shekhem Vige performed songs they had written themselves and gave other well-known tracks their own sound.
They organised the gig as part of their Music Performance BTEC course and were so well received that the Queen’s Theatre has invited them back to perform again.
Music Performance BTEC tutor Chris Donnelly said: “We had some really positive feedback from all the staff working at the theatre about our students' performances. And many of those visitors using the restaurant and bar at lunch said it was nice to have some music while they relaxed.
“The students have been working together really well and have come on brilliantly this year in their singing, playing and performing. I am looking forward to working with them all next year and to putting on more concerts at the Queen’s.”
