Rambert workshop experience for Dance students
An instructor from the renowned Rambert Dance Company visited Havering Sixth Form College to take a workshop with A Level Dance students.
The teacher spent three hours putting the students through their paces in the Drama Theatre and the class was joined by five dance students and tutor Emma Dobson from Gable Hall School in Corringham.
During the session, the students learned creative dance moves, choreography and at the end of the session, had put a full routine together.
The workshop focused on one of the set works that the students are studying for their A Level Dance written exam, 'Rooster' by Christopher Bruce - therefore physically embodying movements that they can use in their analysis.
The highly established Rambert Dance Company is one of the world’s leading independent dance groups and is based on the South Bank in London.
Their mission is to bring dance into local communities that is relevant, accessible, radical, thought-provoking, inspiring and entertaining.
