A strong future for further education in Havering
On 1st December 2018, Havering Sixth Form College (HSFC) and Havering College of Further and Higher Education (HCFHE) will begin the formal consultation process in relation to a proposal for merger between the two Havering colleges and New City College (NCC) that would take place on 1st April 2019.
Statutory Notices relating to the dissolution of the two Havering colleges with a view to the transfer of property, rights and liabilities to NCC were published in the Times and the Romford Recorder newspapers on 30th November.
The full consultation document is available on all three college websites. This outlines a strategic vision to build on current strengths of the colleges and to shape an outstanding future provision for young people, adults, employers and the community in Havering and beyond.
A Federation agreement between HSFC, HCFHE and NCC has been in place since 1st October 2018. The Federation formalised, in a very positive way, some of the colleges’ existing work together and is helping them all to effectively plan and prepare for the arrangements of their proposed merger in April next year.
